Today, the firefighting forces in Lattakia put out a fire in forests and agricultural lands in the village of Baamrin, in the Al-Haffah region.
The head of the Forestry Department in the Latakia Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Jaber Sukour, said in a statement to SANA reporter that a fire had been put out in a forestry mountain in the aforementioned area, containing oak trees and some olive trees, and it spread over an area estimated at ten acres.
Suqur indicated that the fire was brought under control despite the difficult terrain and harsh slopes, and the firefighting forces are now working to cool it down. Four agricultural firefighters, a tractor, four fire teams and two civil defense firefighting vehicles participated in the extinguishing.
