In the Moosburg support facility, 24 people with a high need for assistance are cared for.

The facility is currently looking for volunteers who want to help people with disabilities.

Moosburg

– The Moosburg support center run by Lebenshilfe Freising is currently looking for volunteers who would support the currently 24 people with a high and special need for assistance.

The aim is for people there to be able to make more of their own decisions and communicate in a self-determined manner.

Possible fields of activity include walks, e-bike trips with the double e-bike, exercise offers such as Nordic walking, dancing or swinging.

"Generally, we always get support from people who give something but can also accept something," says Rafael Wachs, head of the support center.

Wachs can well imagine that volunteers decide to work on a project for a limited period of time.

However, each “deployment” – be it baking cakes, working in the garden, helping out on excursions or making music of any kind – is always preceded by a day of sitting in on an introductory phase to get to know one another.

Possible operating times are Monday to Thursday from 9.30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday mornings are the only option.

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.

Committed people who want to help and would like to get to know new, interesting fields of work are invited to contact Rafael Wachs directly on Tel. (0 87 61) 72 62 30 or by email to rafael.wachs@lebenshilfe-fs.de .

Lebenshilfe Freising, which was founded on June 26, 1968, currently supports over 1200 people with disabilities in the district.

More than 700 full-time and voluntary employees are committed to early support, crèches and kindergartens, after-school care and schools, as well as residential and workplaces, for a society “in which people with and without disabilities can live together, on an equal footing and self-determined”, it says on the part of the life support.
