The willingness to help refugees from Ukraine is decreasing.

Many offers are no longer up to date.

County – The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine rages on unabated.

The care of the refugees in the district of Ebersberg is now mostly on a regular basis.

Nevertheless, it crunches in some places.

According to Brigitte Keller, head of the Ukraine crisis team in the district office, there are currently around 1,850 refugees from Ukraine in the Ebersberg district.

The vast majority are housed in host families.

In this area, there are still 344 offers from district citizens in the database, the dashboard, reported by municipalities or private individuals.

However, that does not mean that these are actually open places that can currently be mediated, says Keller.

More and more Ukraine refugees in government shelters

After the outbreak of the war, many people in the Ebersberg district offered their help and reported free rooms or apartments.

Months have passed since then, and most of the offers are no longer up-to-date.

There are currently no free host families available via the dashboard, according to the district office.

This could also be due to the current holiday and holiday season and may change again under certain circumstances.

Ultimately, however, it is currently not possible to convey an offer.

The result is that Ukrainian refugees, if they leave their previous host family – for whatever reason – and cannot find an alternative, are placed in state accommodation, at least temporarily.

Language difficulties as another barrier

The gymnasium of the Gymnasium Kirchseeon has been a “hub” so far.

At the end of the day, 15 people were accommodated there.

At the beginning of the new school year, the hall should be available again for school operations and club sports.

The container facility in Zorneding on Bahnhofsstraße serves as an alternative.

There are currently 64 Ukrainians living there, and there is room for 106 people in total.

According to Anna-Maria Esterl, around 2,000 people from the Ukraine are currently being cared for via the Ebersberg job center – including people who came to Germany before the war.

Around 1,100 job seekers between the ages of 15 and 65 are registered.

Some have already been placed in work, sometimes with the support of host families.

The biggest problem: language difficulties.
