The assault took place on Tuesday August 2 shortly after midnight at the Albert-1er tram stop in Montpellier, reports
Midi Libre
.
That evening, the man got angry when he learned that he had to get off at this stop because of a temporary construction site.
Very alcoholic, the respondent began to insult a 39-year-old Montpellier resident, in a wheelchair, whose eyes he had just met.
The man then exhibited a knife with an unfolded blade and then punched the disabled man twice in the face.
On the run, the attacker was arrested by a police rescue team a few moments later, thanks to the report of the respondent given by the victim.
Placed in police custody, he refuted the attack but the operation of CCTV cameras proved the opposite.
