“
It is inconceivable that there will be an increase [in the price of tolls] next February, of 7% or 8%
,” the Minister of Transport assured the
JDD
last Sunday .
Clément Beaune added that he had "
good hope
", justifying that "
motorway companies have a contract which binds them with the State
".
With this stroke of pressure, the minister is trying to curb the increase in tariffs.
But he nevertheless specified that "
a formula for the annual revaluation of tolls taking inflation into account
" is included in the contract.
With more than 6% increase in consumer prices over one year in July, the bill could prove salty for drivers.
The ministry specifies in
Figaro
that discussions will be initiated “
from the start of the school year with the dealer companies to avoid a sharp increase
”.
