The identity of the child's body found in Donau in May continues to puzzle investigators.
Now the police are publicly looking for witnesses.
Ingolstadt – On Thursday, May 19, a canoeist discovered a child's corpse in the Danube above the Vohburg barrage (Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district).
The mortal remains are said to have been in a plastic bag, badly decomposed, and proved to be human after an autopsy.
The identity of the dead boy, who was of preschool age, has not yet been clarified.
Now the police are increasingly looking for witnesses who have made suspicious observations since the spring.
Dead boy in the Danube: Previous investigations were unsuccessful
The investigation continues to raise the question: Who is the dead boy?
Previous investigations have brought in some clues, but they have not been able to clarify the identity or the exact course of the death.
A comparison with missing persons was also unsuccessful.
However, water sports enthusiasts, promenade visitors or anglers may have seen or heard something in the spring of 2022 between the Vohburg and Ingolstadt barrages that could shed some light on the matter.
Who can help?
The police are looking for witnesses in the case of the child's body recovered from the Danube.
