Lenggries - It seems that a brown bear is still on the move near Lenggries.
The State Office for the Environment found paw prints of the animal.
A brown bear is still in the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen: Paw marks were again discovered, as reported by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment.
The tracks were clearly assigned to a bear by experts.
Bear tracks discovered not far from where the animal was first sighted
The fingerprints were reported to the state office about a week ago.
And not far from the spot where the bear was captured by the wildlife camera eleven days earlier.
This was hung up by the Bavarian State Forests near the Sylvensteinsee to control damage caused by browsing by game.
As a result, the wild animal was discovered by chance on July 17th south of the B307 near the Sylvenstein reservoir.
In addition, the bear had previously been sighted by cyclists in the Tyrolean municipality of Langkampfen on the "Bärenbad" forest path.
On site, experts searched for traces and DNA material.
Three footprints were discovered, but no genetically usable substances such as hair or feces, reports the spokesman for the responsible office.
It is therefore not possible to examine whether it is the same animal that was last sighted in May in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district.
At that time it had been possible to take DNA samples.
