The IDF killed a senior commander of the Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, on Friday at noon, thus giving the signal for the start of the "Rising Dawn" operation. Prime Minister Lapid and Defense Minister Gantz will conduct a special situation assessment in Kirya in light of the situation.  

A short time ago, the IDF attacked targets of the Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip. This is an operation aimed at removing a concrete threat to the citizens of the State of Israel and surrounding Gaza and harming terrorists and their emissaries. Operational cooperation of the IDF, the intelligence agencies and the Shin Bet.

The Prime Minister, Yair Lapid, said: "The Israeli government will not allow the terrorist organizations to set the agenda in the Gaza Strip and threaten the citizens of the State of Israel. Let anyone who rises to harm Israel know that we will get to them.


The security forces will act against the terrorists of the Islamic Jihad to remove the threat over the citizens of Israel".

Defense Minister Benny Gantz: "The task is to protect Israeli settlements and Israeli citizens - we will not allow any party to threaten or harm Israeli citizens. Anyone who tries - will be harmed."

As mentioned, following the IDF operation in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Lapid will enter a security situation assessment, together with Defense Minister Benny Gantz, at 6:30 PM in Kirya in Tel Aviv.
