Today, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the imposition of sanctions on 62 Canadians, in response to the sanctions imposed by Canada on Russia earlier.
And RIA Novosti news agency quoted the Russian Foreign Ministry as saying in a statement that the Canadians whose names are on the Russian sanctions list will be prohibited from entering Russian territory.
The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that this list of sanctions is not the final measure, and that more measures will be announced at a later time.
Moscow's move comes in response to the sanctions imposed by Canada on Russia on the 27th of June and the 7th of last July, against the backdrop of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, which affected a number of Russian officials, journalists and experts.
