The Russian space agency, Roscosmos, announced that it will soon launch several satellites, including an Iranian one.
“On the ninth of this month, a Soyuz 02 1B rocket will be launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome,” RIA Novosti quoted the space agency as saying in a statement, noting that the rocket will carry several satellites into Earth orbits, including the Khiam satellite, which was developed and manufactured in affiliated institutions. The statement stated that, in addition to the Iranian satellite, the missile will carry 16 small satellites that were developed by leading Russian universities, companies and non-profit institutions. And “Sairn”, “Corbas 300”, “Scultech B1” and “Vizard”.
According to Ross Cosmos, the new Russian satellites are intended for scientific and technological research, including testing technologies for implementing communication channels between satellites, measuring the level of electromagnetic radiation, sensing the Earth from afar and monitoring the environmental situation.
