Turbulent days lie behind the Schliersee mountain rescue service.

The forces had to perform six missions within three days.

And the weekend is yet to come...

Schliersee

- Probably the most unnecessary mission came after dark.

On Thursday, August 4, around 9:50 p.m., several callers reported a flashing light in the area of the rocks around the Hohenwaldeck castle ruins.

The commander of the Schliersee Mountain Rescue Service who was alarmed did not hesitate and sent eight mountain rescuers along different routes in the direction of the ruins.

He also requested the Hausham Mountain Rescue drone to fly over the steep terrain.

Ultimately, however, the emergency services did not find any hikers in mountain distress there, but three young boys who had set up camp for the night in the area where there was a risk of falling.

The mountain guards escorted them to a safe meadow and ended a tiring day around 12:30 a.m.

Police officer injured during exercise in ravine

It started in the early afternoon.

At around 1:30 p.m., the mountain rescue service was called to a steep gorge near the forester's lodge in Valepp.

There, a police officer fell during an exercise over the Weißen Valepp near the Maria Hilf mountain chapel and suffered a thigh fracture.

The emergency doctor from the mountain rescue service and four rescuers accompanied the rescue of the man using a helicopter winch.

The next incident followed less than an hour and a half after the end of the mission.

At around 4:18 p.m., a cyclist from Isny in the Allgäu fell on the forest road near the Stockeralm on Spitzingsee.

Four mountain rescuers took care of their knee injuries and handed them over to the land rescue service.

Paraglider pilot crashed at Jägerkamp

As soon as that was done, the alarm went off again at 5:11 p.m.

A paraglider pilot had crashed in the Jägerbauernalm area on Jägerkamp.

The operations manager immediately called for a helicopter, which picked up four air rescuers from the Schliersee and Munich mountain rescue services at the intermediate landing site in Neuhaus and then lowered them to the scene together with an emergency doctor using a cable winch.

Since it was initially feared that the paraglider would get caught in a tree, the helicopter brought more forces to the scene of the accident.

Fortunately, the man had already made it to the ground on his own, so that the rescuers could start treating his spinal trauma immediately.

Broken ankle on Taubenstein

Already on Wednesday, August 3rd, the Schliersee mountain rescuers were called around 1.30 p.m. to a fallen hiker in the upper part of the hole ditch on the Taubenstein.

Five rescuers took care of the holidaymaker's broken ankle from Suhl near Erfurt and took her with the ATV all-terrain vehicle to the mountain rescue vehicle on the Schönfeldalm and thus further down to Spitzing, where the land rescue service was already waiting around 4 p.m.
