For a year and a half, 21 students at the agricultural school studied diligently despite the difficult circumstances.

It was worth it: everyone was allowed to receive their testimonies.

District – “They are personalities and highly committed”, headmaster Stefan Gabler looked back on the past semester in his speech.

At the beginning, due to the pandemic, you “had to wrestle with each other a bit”, because the students actively campaigned for not only having to learn in distance classes.

"In retrospect, it's great how you did it," said Gabler, praising the fact that solutions had been found together.

"It speaks for our school," he interpreted the desire for face-to-face teaching positively.

This could actually take place from May 2021, to the delight of everyone.

The headmaster flattered the graduates: "You were a very pleasant year."

Graduated from the agricultural school: Women started motivated despite distance learning

District farmer Christine Sulzenbacher explained the relevance of the training: “Housekeeping is important.

Fortunately, society and politics have now recognized that,” she referred to the varied field of activity, which also offers women in the family phase an opportunity.

Eberfing's Mayor Georg Leis could only agree: "I'm impressed by the diversity behind it."

Veronika Ostermeier, who according to Gabler is the "manager of the whole school", could hardly believe that the semester was already over: "It feels like we've only just begun." The deputy headmistress went into the problems caused by Corona.

In February 2021 there were considerations to postpone the start.

"I'm glad we didn't wait," she said.

Despite 14 weeks of distance learning, the women started highly motivated.

Only then was there an opportunity to get to know each other at school.

Respect for the successful completion: "They all persevered, even if it wasn't always easy"

A seminar in Grainau strengthened the class community, which can still be seen today: "The team spirit really impressed me," confessed Ostermeier, and paid tribute to the graduates: "They all persevered, even if it wasn't always easy."

The semester spokespersons Michaela Albrecht and Barbara Lutz gave a brief look back at their time at the agricultural school: "We have an instructive and informative path behind us." Each of her classmates can be proud of having mastered the exam despite having a job and family.

"When there are 21 women in one place, things can get turbulent," Lutz admitted with a laugh.

Pupils collect 2000 euros in donations for their final project

But the pleasant experiences that stayed in her memory would outweigh them: a visit to the Marnbacher Wieshof, a glimpse into the canteen kitchen of the Peissenberger nursing home, a tour of the Spatz perennial nursery, an excursion to Landsberg, a trip to the Dietlhofen estate and to the Scheitzhof in Andechs.

Lutz also mentioned funny moments like baking cookies online.

In the end, the final project with the creation of a monthly booklet and the organization of the open day of the school was pending.

In the process, 2,000 euros in donations were generated, which were handed over to the “Ladybird” association, which takes care of children who have lost their parents.

District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß promised the graduates many future opportunities on the job market.

She encouraged: "You stand on your own two feet, but don't just stand, go." The old-fashioned image of "house crickets" has long been outdated, and the well-trained women would resemble managers who pull the strings.

The district administrator is certain: "Housekeeping may not sound that trendy, but you can rely on what you can do, everyone needs."
