Super long-lived couple, 80 years of marriage in the Bolognese area

When they got married, World War II was in full swing.

Aristide Cati, 99, and Pia Venturi, 97, spouses from Camugnano, in the Bolognese Apennines, have reached the milestone of 80 years of marriage.

The municipality tells the story that gave the long-lived couple a plaque, with the mayor Marco Masinara.

Aristide and Pia said their yes in 1942

and had two children, Auro and Roberto.

Immediately after the war they moved from Camugnano to Bologna where he found work as department head in the Samp company, founded by Gaetano Maccaferri in 1936, while his wife Pia preferred to take care of the family.

In 1978 the couple decided to return to live in the mountains, in the locality of Serraiola where they took over a grocery store with its restaurant for 10 years.

In 1988, when they ceased business, they retired to the family home in Vigaia, the house in which they still live today.
