The Russian Federal Security Service thwarted a terrorist attack that a supporter of the Ukrainian right-wing extremist group "Right Sector", banned in Russia, tried to carry out against military and police personnel in the Karachay Circassian Republic in the North Caucasus.
"According to the measures implemented in Cherkessk, Karachay Circassian Republic, a citizen who supported the ideology of the "neo-Nazis" was arrested, who planned to commit terrorist acts against employees of the republic's law enforcement agencies and the military," TASS news agency quoted the agency's press office as saying.
In addition, members of the Russian Federal Security Service seized two explosive devices, components for making explosives, blueprints for the offices of the General Prosecutor and Military Commissar's offices, as well as correspondences with active members of the far-right sector exposing his criminal intentions and symbols of the extremist group.
