The candidates for the Fahrenzhausen mayoral election have now been determined.

On September 25, the citizens will decide who will move into the town hall.

Susanne Hartmann (FDP/FWE), Alexandra Karl (Greens) and Günter Fuchs (CSU) will stand for election on September 25th.

They all want to conquer the executive chair in Fahrenzhausen town hall.

Fahrenzhausen

– The "3" has always been a magic number.

And there are also three candidates who will stand for election on September 25 in Fahrenzhausen, when a new mayor will be appointed in the westernmost municipality of the Freising district: Günter Fuchs will be sent into the race by the CSU, Susanne Hartmann will step down for the FDP and the FWE, Alexandra Karl was nominated by Bündnis 90/Die Grünen.

The parties and groups held back for a long time and remained silent when it came to the successor to Mayor Heinrich Stadlbauer (FBL), who died unexpectedly on June 1st.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Shortly before the registration deadline for applicants expired on August 4th, things started happening in quick succession.

On July 29, the FWE (non-public) chose their favorite, on August 2 the CSU followed suit, and on August 3 finally it was the Greens' turn.

Günther Fuchs is to conquer the town hall chair for the CSU

After a long search, the Christian Socialists found what they were looking for: Günter Fuchs is to conquer the executive chair in the town hall for the CSU.

Fuchs, now 51, lives in Petershausen.

The trained administration specialist, who is currently manager of the municipality of Reichertshausen an der Ilm, already has experience as a mayor: in 2008 he was elected mayor of the municipality of Petershausen, but was unable to defend his post in the 2014 election and lost in the runoff to Marcel Fath (FW ).

His attempt to regain the executive chair in Petershausen in 2020 failed.

Again he lost in the runoff to Fath.

Fuchs is now the leader of the CSU parliamentary group in the Petershausen municipal council.

His credo: "Together we will prepare Fahrenzhausen for the future."

FDP woman Susanne Hartmann was nominated by FWE

Also not from Fahrenzhausen, but from a neighboring community - namely Hohenkammer - comes Susanne Hartmann (59), who was brought into play by the FDP and nominated by the FWE.

Hartmann has also tried his hand at mayoral elections: in Hohenkammer she has already run twice as an applicant for the FDP - but without success.

In 2014 she lost to incumbent Johann Stegmair (CSU), in 2020 she narrowly failed in the runoff election to her CSU opponent Mario Berti.

Hartmann has been a member of the Hohenkammer municipal council for 14 years and was elected to the Freising district council for the FDP in the 2020 local elections.

She has been working for an automotive supplier in Munich for nine years.

Previously, she was team leader in facility management at the former Munich fashion group Escada.

Her credo: "Everyone must pull together."

Only Green candidate Alexandra Karl comes from Fahrenzhausen

The trio of candidates is the only one from Fahrenzhausen to complete Alexandra Karl, who was put on the candidate shield by the Greens.

The 51-year-old lawyer, who has held managerial positions in various companies in the private sector, grew up in Weng and has lived in the main town of Fahrenzhausen since 1996.

Alexandra Karl is no stranger to her community, as her father Gottfried Liedl was a member of the municipal council for 30 years and was also the second mayor, and is the recipient of the gold citizen's medal.

For example, Karl himself has been employed as an organist and choir director in the Fahrenzhausen-Haimhausen parish association and in the Fahrenzhausen music association for over 30 years, and he also co-founded the dwarf group in Weng, which still exists today.

Her credo: openness to new ideas, tolerance, listening and understanding.

Because: "We are all a community."

The Freie Bürgerliste (FBL), to which Stadlbauer belonged, and the SPD stayed out.

As Third Mayor Heinrich Kislinger (FBL) said, despite many discussions, no candidate was found.

According to local councilor Martin Angermaier, the SPD never seriously considered putting up a candidate.

While the FBL does not make an election recommendation, the SPD supports the CSU candidate, as Angermaier says: "He was mayor, he knows his stuff." He is most likely to be trusted to implement the projects that have been initiated.
