The IDF today (Friday) defined a special situation in the rear, in an area of up to 80 km from the Gaza Strip, in the shadow of the "Dawn" operation that began today, against targets of the Islamic Jihad.
The IDF announced instructions to the residents of the Gaza Strip and the southern region, and municipalities across the country announced the opening of shelters. The
IDF informed the authorities that the residents of the Gaza Strip are asked to stay near protected areas and shelters.
Gatherings were banned in the Gaza Strip, starting with ten people in an open area and 50 people in a building, and educational activities were canceled.
The Home Front Command assumed that it is possible to reach workplaces from which a standard protected area can be reached.
In the Negev and the Lakish area, gatherings of ten people in an open area and 100 people in a building were prohibited.
There, too, educational activities have been canceled, and it will be possible to reach workplaces from which one can reach a standard protected space.

Along with the authorities in the south, several authorities in the center of the country also decided to open the public shelters: Netanya, Ra'anana, Kfar Saba, Herzliya, Modi'in, Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Kadima Zoran and Bat Yam.
In Ashdod and Kiryat Malachi, Shabbat prayers will only be held in synagogues where space is protected.
The beaches of Ashkelon, Ashdod, Palmachim, Zikim and Nitzanim are prohibited for bathing until further notice.
