There was a lot to do for the youth fire brigades in Aufkirchen and Schwaig during their joint 24-hour exercise.

Aufkirchen/Schwaig – The 24-hour exercise for the Aufkirchen youth fire brigade and the Schwaig fire brigade youth group presented many challenges.

As reported by the fire brigade in a press release, it started on Friday.

In the afternoon, a detailed exercise service with various stations on the subject of technical assistance in the event of traffic accidents was on the program for the young people.

The training included, among other things, various first aid measures, such as rescuing from a car with the rescue board or safe handling of the lifting bag set to lift loads.

24-hour exercise: First alarm for Aufkirchen around 6 p.m

While they were practicing in Aufkirchen, the Schwaiger group already started with a garage fire with a missing person.

Here the young people demonstrated their knowledge of firefighting and were able to save the person and extinguish the fire.

The first alarm for the forces from Aufkirchen was around 6 p.m.

The youth fire brigade from Aufkirchen and Schwaig were alarmed.

A car struck a pedestrian and then collided with another car.

A car caught fire as a result of the collision, so that firefighting was the top priority at first.

In the further process, the injured were cared for and cared for by the young people.

Around 8 p.m., the participants, trainers and helpers met in Aufkirchen at the fire station for a barbecue.

Youth fire brigade: Cat in the tree at half past six in the morning

At around 2 a.m. the alarm sounded again and the youth group of FF Aufkirchen was alerted to the site of the former Bayernwerk building yard in Aufkirchen to search for people.

There, a group of young people had gained unauthorized access to an empty building.

The emergency services were soon able to find two injured people in the house, stabilize them and take them outside through an open window.

Another person was found in the basement.

Because the person was too weak to go upstairs himself, the young people used the rescue board to take them down the stairs to the ground floor.

After the building was no longer connected to the power grid, it was necessary to illuminate the scene with flashlights.

At 6.30 a.m., the Schwaig youth fire brigade was alerted to a cat in the tree.

Afterwards there was a hearty breakfast.

A little later than in Schwaig, at 7.30 a.m., the young people from Aufkirchen were also woken up for breakfast.

Shortly thereafter, the alarm for the Schwaig youth group sounded again, there was a medical emergency to be treated.

The Schwaiger found one person who lost consciousness and stopped breathing.

Here it was necessary to carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation and to use a defibrillator.

Special surprise: extinguishing training

A special surprise in the morning was the extinguishing training with Christian Kaiser.

The demonstration of a grease fire explosion was particularly impressive.

From 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., the residents of Aufkirchen completed a firefighting exercise service.

The last mission, in cooperation with the FF Schwaig, was a fire in a workshop in Aufkirchen.

The attack team was able to rescue an unconscious person from the entrance area, while another team made a water supply to a fire hydrant over a fence.

Youth fire brigade: Joint conclusion

The forces from Schwaig had to use respiratory protection to search the outbuilding for people.

The particular difficulty here was that the fire brigade could only gain access to the building through an open window because the door was locked.

The two fire brigades set up a casualty collection point outdoors, where they cared for the patients.

After the end of the mission, the vehicles were upgraded and made ready for use.

The 24-hour exercise ended with the young people having lunch together before everyone drove home exhausted.
