Following the security escalation and the "Dawn" operation, Benjamin Netanyahu is considering how to act on the issue of the primaries, which are supposed to take place this Wednesday.
Netanyahu told his men that he wanted to wait until Monday morning, then he would see what the situation was - whether the fighting would continue or whether there would be a lull.
If the fighting situation is significant, there is a high chance of postponing the primaries.
Will the situation calm down by Monday?

The postponement of the primaries will cause a big "headache" for Netanyahu and the Likud people: if it is decided to postpone the primaries, they will not be able to be held later in August, as far as the Likud people are concerned, the chosen date, August 10, is already considered deep into the holiday season.
Likud members, candidates and functionaries planned vacations immediately after the primaries, therefore the possibility that the primaries will be postponed until September.
Or then the fear that the date will be too close to submitting lists and in that case it will be difficult to conduct primaries and a proper process followed by appeals, if required.
Will the fighting affect the primaries?

Another option Netanyahu has is to "copy and paste" the current list, but in that case many appeals to legal courts and great resentment among quite a few contestants are expected.
