As-Suwayda-Sana
A variety of awareness and entertainment activities included an event entitled “For the Smile of Children” presented by 50 children within the twelfth festival for people with disabilities in the city of As-Suwayda.
The event, which was organized in cooperation with the branch of the Syrian Family Planning Association and the Basmat Watan initiative in the lobby of the Suwayda City Council, included puppet theater segments with topics aimed at spreading and promoting community values, in addition to songs, competitions, entertainment games and the distribution of gifts to all participating children with disabilities and their peers.
The head of the administrative committee of the branch of the Syrian Association for the Physically Handicapped in Sweida, Nizar Shuja, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the event came with the aim of promoting the integration of children with disabilities with their peers, making them feel love and safety, drawing joy on their faces, and emphasizing the importance of their presence in society.
A number of children's parents considered that the event reflects the extent of interest in this segment by the festival organizers, stressing the need to continue holding it periodically because of its positive impact on their children.
The activities of the festival, which is held by the branch of the Syrian Society for the Physically Handicapped, in cooperation with the Suwayda City Council, will continue until the 11th of this month.
