As part of the cultural summer, Rima Abdul Malak went this Friday evening to Ivry-sur-Seine. On the program: the representation of a spec

" You are welcome !

“, gets carried away Sana, 10 years old, in the small yurt installed in the Parc Monmousseau of Ivry-sur-Seine.

Facing her, the Minister of Culture Rima Abdul Malak, in a casual look, discusses with a dozen young people.

Twelve of them are about to unveil a show prepared for a week, in front of the minister and 200 Vitriots.

"I'm nervous," slips Alice, her eyes shining with glitter.

For the first time, the traveling cultural center Les Frères Kazamaroffs has taken up residence in the town of Ivry-sur-Seine.

And it does not go unnoticed: caravans lined up one behind the other, and two yurts planted on the ground.

"With the concept" The yurts in my city ", created in 2015, we aim to promote artistic and cultural establishment where culture is least present", presents Gérard Clarté, one of the founders of the company.

For the occasion, Rima Abdul Malak made the trip.

A moment of sharing and confession

In front of the twenty children and parents seated on a bench, the minister questions those who have been rehearsing the show “La Famille Moleskine” all week long, a mixture of circus arts, juggling and manipulation of objects.

"I especially learned balance and to concentrate more," says Sana, in a pink t-shirt.

Outside, trumpet rehearsals follow one another.

But the eyes of the children remain amazed in front of the minister.

“They just have to concentrate at the right time,” smiles Gérard Clarté, confident.

“Why are you here?

asks a boy, his finger raised.

Rima Abdul Malak smiles at Gérard Clarté.

The man is indeed not unknown to him.

Former program director of Clowns sans frontières, an NGO bringing together more than 400 multicultural artists, she worked with the company Les Frères Kazamaroffs from 2001 to 2006. An experience that allowed her to go to slums, orphanages, hospitals and prisons , “where we could offer shows”, she explains.

“Today, I continue to offer culture as a minister, no longer in countries at war, but in places where it is not present”.

Trumpets, chants and invitation

After a time of discussion, it is now time to invite the inhabitants of the neighborhood to attend the show.

The trumpets out, three members of the company land on every street corner shouting: “Hey, go to Parc Monmousseau for a circus performance”.

A few heads come out of the buildings, curious about the music.

" We arrive !

retorts a group of young people intrigued by the crowd.

"That's what we like, laughter and encounters", recalls Gérard Clarté.

Nearly 200 people are waiting on plastic chairs set up for the occasion.

Jade, Adem and Fatou are seated in the front row, their eyes on the minister.

“We have never seen a circus show, and moreover with a minister present,” they whisper.

The performance can begin.
