Preparations are in full swing: from August 12th to 15th, the Schloßbergler finally want to celebrate their anniversary.

The new flag is dedicated to the 100+1 year anniversary.

Valley

– One hundred years of Schlossbergler, the folks from Valley wanted to celebrate that in 2021 with a new flag.

After the pandemic prevented this, the Schlossberg people are now catching up on the big break.

Under the motto 100+1, they will be celebrating the flag consecration for four days from August 12th to 15th, 2022 - and the narrow unusual centenary with it.

"We are glad that the consecration with a party is finally possible," says chairwoman Margarete Cyllok.

The Trachtlers will not publicly show their new flag until the festival.

Cyllok only reveals: "It turned out beautifully." She recently picked up the flag with her board colleagues in Olching (district of Fürstenfeldbruck) from the Eibl art embroidery workshop, which specializes in flags, where she had been waiting for the delegation for a while.

The idea for a new flag goes back even further, says Cyllok.

The old flag was from 1947 and was in dire need of restoration, but it only survived this once.

Another general overhaul was out of the question.

So the association took the anniversary as an opportunity to purchase a new flag.

He put money aside and inquired about the operation that had been tried and tested from earlier restoration work.

So far no problem.

New Flag: "A Difficult Birth"

The difficult part of the purchase started with the idea search, says Cyllok and laughs.

"A difficult birth.

Everyone thought about it and everyone wanted something special.” One thing was certain: the founding date and a pair of traditional costumes had to be on the new flag, and a new picture was also needed.

So the people of Schlossberg decided on the traditional costume couple on the one hand and a townscape with their clubhouse on the other.

The underground is made of velvet instead of silk, like the predecessor.

In up to 200 working hours, a single embroidery expert from Olching then produced the image on the flag with a hand-held embroidery machine.

It had to be a single employee to have a consistent handwriting.

While other customers occasionally take a look at the flags being made, the people from Schlossberg were surprised and first examined the finished product.

After that they had to be patient again until they planned their flag consecration with a clear conscience.

Long-serving ensign Martin Rummel took care of the flag and carefully stowed it away in the closet.

With his flag companions Bernhard Cyllok and Michael Wieser, he takes care of their proper handling and careful transport.

Top priority: don't get wet.

In addition to the new flag and the first standard, there is still room for the old flag in the cupboard.

According to Cyllok, it will be used on special occasions.

If two events fall on the same day, the Schlossbergler now have a flag for both.

The festival program from August 12th to 15th

The flag consecration festival will be celebrated from August 12th to 15th at the sports field in Unterdarching.

The beer and wine festival kicks things off on Friday evening from 7 p.m. with music by "Bagg Ma's" and a visit from the Westerham Haberfeldfahrer.

The commemoration of the dead is followed by a homeland evening on Saturday, which ends with a dance with the "Eiberglers".

The clubs meet at 8 a.m. on Sunday to set off in a church procession for the festive service with the consecration of the flag.

The club that sponsors the new flag, the Mangfalltaler from Westerham, is also there.

The traditional village festival will be celebrated in the marquee this year as a convivial end to the festive season.

In addition to the proven entertainment with the Unterdarchinger Musi and the usual children's games, the junior groups are also looking forward to their first performance since Corona this year.

For many it will be the first in front of a home audience.

Because the location allows it, there will be a stick-up tournament again for the first time.

The teams of four must have at least one woman and one man in the squad.
