Operation "Dawn" against the Islamic Jihad has significantly raised the level of vigilance in the capital • The preparation is mainly for terrorist attacks and also for disturbances and incidents of friction • MK Ben Gabir: "We are the owners of the house"

High tensions in Jerusalem on Tisha B'Av and fear of clashes on a nationalistic background during the day of fasting and mourning for the Jewish people for the destruction of the Temple.

The "Dawn" operation against the Islamic Jihad has significantly raised the level of vigilance in the capital on Tisha B'Av and towards the ascension of many Jews today (Sunday) to the Temple Mount.

The Jerusalem District Police has a special preparation on Tisha B'Av with an emphasis on the Western Wall and the security of the Jews who will go up to the Temple Mount today.

The Jerusalem District Police under the command of Superintendent Doron Turgeman are preparing with increased forces mainly in the Old City area and its surroundings starting from Saturday until the night between Sunday and Monday after breaking the fast.

The police stated that the preparation is mainly for threats of hostile sabotage activity and also for disturbances and incidents of friction, if there are any with an emphasis on maintaining security and public order.

Hundreds of police officers secure the Old City area and the surrounding area starting from Saturday night, with the main focal points being the Western Wall during Tisha B'Av until its exit, including the security of the routes of arrival for the worshipers in the area of the Nablus Gate and the Jaffa Gate as well as around the Temple Mount.

The increased preparation is aimed at preventing violent events in Jerusalem around Tisha B'Av and today's planned ascension to the Temple Mount.

In recent days, threats by terrorist organizations against the expected ascension of a large number of Jews to the Temple Mount on Tisha B'av have increased, which raises the level of tension in Jerusalem.

Tom Nisani, CEO of 'In our hands for the Temple Mount', said ahead of the day of the Ascension to the Temple Mount and the threats of terrorist organizations that "the Ascension to the Temple Mount on Tisha B'Av is a test for the Israeli authorities.

The upcoming pilgrimage to the Temple Mount is expected to be the largest pilgrimage in history since the temple days of the Temple Mount pilgrims.

The thousands of immigrants prove not in words but in deeds that the Temple Mount long ago became part of the Israeli consensus.

The time has come for the terrorists of Hamas and Islamic Jihad not to run the State of Israel."

Arnon Segal, the candidate for the religious Zionist list for the Knesset, said that "Sunday, the Tisha B'Av fast, will be a test day for the government. The Muslims will do everything to prevent masses of Jews from ascending the mountain. If the government surrenders to them, it will be a great disgrace. We certainly expect full observance of rights The foundation - usually trampled - of Jews who want to go up to the Temple Mount, certainly on the day of the Temple's destruction."

Meanwhile, the chairman of Otzma Yehudit MK Itamar Ben Gabir will go to the Temple Mount tomorrow.

The visit is coordinated with the Israel Police.

According to MK Ben Gabir: "We must not surrender to jihad and terrorism - we are the owners of the State of Israel and the more we feel this way and act accordingly, the enemies will understand the message."
