Karlsfeld – All hell breaks loose on the Lärchenweg in Karlsfeld in the mornings in front of the Glücksklee day-care center and the sunshine during the week.

Cars, bicycles, cargo bikes and running bikes.

"A bustling situation," as Franz Trinkl from the SPD stated at the most recent meeting of the municipal council.

He had seen the situation for himself and was, as he said, "negatively impressed".

Therefore, in an application, Trinkl called for the activities on the Lärchenweg to be examined and suitable measures to be taken to reduce the risk.

One problem that Trinkl brought up is the sidewalk.

Because there isn't one directly in front of the Glücksklee kindergarten.

At least "not a reasonable one", as Trinkl said.

There is also no bike path.

"The small children with the small wheels have to cross a junction several times where cars drive out."

The SPD municipal council brought the previously discussed bicycle road into play.

"As a bicycle consultant for the community, I can't think of anything better." But he knows that this does not solve the problem alone.

Another solution had to be found, especially at junctions.

"An attractive bicycle lane can be designed in such a way that it is unattractive for motorists," explained traffic officer Bernd Wanka from the CSU.

Only residents are then allowed to use the Lärchenweg.

However, the idea of widening the larch path, as originally planned before the children's home was built, is no longer an option.

Wanka relies on the cycling concept that the municipality is currently having created.

However, this was "considerably delayed", as Wanka announced.

But now there is progress.

The on-site inspection of the commissioned office took place, and the municipality was also in discussion with an expert.

"She pointed out important points," said Wanka.

However, Wanka believes it is unlikely that a decision can be made regarding the cycle path on the Lärchenweg after the summer break.

You first have to wait for the result of the traffic study and the cycling concept.

Wanka does not expect the results until the end of the year.

The municipal council decided unanimously to continue to deal with the application in the environment and transport committee.
