The Minister of Tourism, Eng. Mohamed Rami Martini, inaugurated today the “Karnak Site A” and “Dreams Beach” projects for popular tourism investors by the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism.
The Minister was also briefed on the Mohandessin beach project under construction with a capacity of 800 chairs, the location of the Ghamka River and the possibility of investing in it as a tourist.
In a statement to reporters, Engineer Martini said that the opening of projects today comes within the framework of the government's plan to develop the popular tourism sector and provide better services at specific and thoughtful prices, as entry to open beaches is at symbolic prices, which is a thousand pounds per person and children free of charge.
Martini pointed out that grassroots organizations have entered strongly on the investment line in the field of popular tourism in all governorates and in cooperation with administrative units, noting the existence of many interesting tourism projects for Syrian expatriates who participate in the renaissance of Syria and the reconstruction of the economic and tourism sector, contrary to what some of the enemies of the homeland are trying to promote.
In turn, the director of the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism, Fayez Mansour, explained that the development of Karnak chalets began last year on an area of 24 dunums, and there is a plan to increase the space next year.
Mansour pointed out that the Family Dream Beach project is one of the projects that support tourism, and it is dedicated to swimming for one day without residence, and it receives people from Tartous and abroad, and it has a summer and winter restaurant, children's games, family sessions, shared kitchens, and others.
During the tour that Minister Martini made to a number of tourist sites and facilities in the governorate, the foundation stone was laid for the “Bahr and Jabal” tourism project of the municipality of Beit Kamouna, consisting of 3 stars and consisting of a hotel, restaurants, tourist apartments, winter and summer units, in addition to open and closed swimming pools with playgrounds and terraces. And recreational, commercial, sports and other services with a total area of 33,000 square meters and a capacity of 250 hotel beds.
The Al-Bahr Hotel project, consisting of 3 stars, a restaurant and a cafeteria, was opened on the sea corniche of Tartous Governorate, with a total area of 475 square meters and a floor area of 2500 square meters. With a total area of 1310 square meters and a total floor area of 4,000 square meters, it has a capacity to accommodate 110 hotel beds and 160 feeding chairs.
The tour included an inspection of tourism projects under construction, including the Grand Tartous Hotel, where the rehabilitation and renovation works were reviewed, with completion rates reaching 80 percent, with a capacity of 200 beds and 1500 chairs, restaurants, a conference hall, a multi-purpose hall and a gym.
The tour also included a visit to the 3-star “Tea and Honey” restaurant with a capacity of 250 feeding chairs, a visit to the “Holiday Beach” resort and a review of the services provided there.
The Minister of Tourism concluded his tour with the inauguration of an art exhibition by the artist Osama Jahjah at the Rose Marie Baldrikish Hotel, which included 30 collage paintings in which women represented their human states with a new feminine mould, away from the classics.
The Minister of Tourism was accompanied on the tour by Tartous Governor Abdel Halim Khalil, Secretary of the Tartous branch of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party, Muhammad Hussein, the Tartous Governorate Police Commander, Brigadier General Wafiq Abu Dallah, and the Tartous Tourism Director.
