From the middle of next week, all regions south of the Loire should therefore experience scorching temperatures, i.e. around 36°C during the day and 20°C or more at night.
In the southern half of the country, temperatures can reach 40°C.
In the West, they will fluctuate between 35° and 39°C, against 30 to 34°C in the Northeast.
To the north of the Loire, the wind will be able to cool these temperatures by a few degrees.
The already very warm air around the Mediterranean should rise over France from the start of the week to reach the North in the following days.
This scenario of a fourth heat wave is notably due to the anticyclones which persist over Western Europe and prevent the passage of disturbances over our country.
A second scenario, unlikely according to
La Chaîne Météo
, would allow the ousting of this heat wave by the arrival of cooler ocean air from the North-East.
