The traditional costumes were in the closet long enough: At the Alt-Schlierseer Kirchtag, the clubs finally had the opportunity to show their precious garments again.
And none got wet either.
Schliersee
– For around 600 participants, the Alt-Schlierseer Kirchtag was a journey back to the good old days when Bavaria was still a kingdom.
The Alt-Schlierseer association and around 300 guests from nine traditional costume and traditional costume preservation associations from Mittenwald to Tyrol helped to make the detour.

As they stood in their historical robes on the banks of the Schliersee and waited for the faithful from Fischhausen, who traditionally come by boat to the small church consecration of St. Sixtus, one felt as if one had been transported into a painting by Domenico Quaglio or Joseph Karl Stieler: a The mountains were sparsely clouded, the lake was emerald green and on it the ten festively decorated boats that docked to the sound of the Niklasreuth brass band.

Five plates included
Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer helped get out.
It wouldn't have been the first time someone had gone swimming.
Because the historic plates, which were used to fish in shallow water in the past, are a shaky affair in the absence of a deeper keel.
On top of that, the arches decorated with spruce, box, holly and flowers, which raise the emphasis even further.
A total of five plates were included this time: one historic one, three reconstructed according to historical plans and one that the club inherited last year and had renovated and extended so that it is back to its original length.

State President Ilse Aigner, District Administrator Olaf von Löwis, the clergy with Pastor Hans Sinseder and Deacon Alois Winderl, the Wasmaier senior family, costume tailors and musicians came dry-shod and safely onto the footbridge.
"What a beautiful day.
What a pleasure,” said Schnitzenbaumer, noting that the Alt-Schlierseer Kirchtag was able to take place again after a two-year forced break due to corona.
He regretted that this year there were fewer boats and active participants.
“But such a day of celebration motivates us to keep going and attracting members.
Customs are made visible and tangible here.”

Aigner drove over the Schliersee for the second time.
This is reassuring in two ways.
“Once in and of itself as an experience.
And once insofar as the tradition here is passed on to the next generation.” District Administrator Olaf von Löwis, for whom the crossing was a premiere, thought: “You almost float over the lake.
You can have a wonderful conversation or get lost in your thoughts.”
The jetty then became a catwalk.
The guests not only photographed the celebrities, but also the beautiful traditional costumes and robes in front of the lake and mountain panorama.
An almost royal sight.
