A drunk Mazda driver (53) overlooked the BMW of a hotelier from Elmau (67) waiting in front of a red traffic light in Miesbach on Saturday (August 6).

The impact was so severe that the person who caused the accident was seriously injured.

Miesbach

– A serious accident occurred late on Saturday afternoon (August 6th) on the south-north through road in Miesbach (Bayrischzeller Straße).

As reported by the Miesbach police, the Mazda of a woman from Bad Tölz crashed into a BMW that was waiting at a red traffic light at the junction to Schlierseer Straße.

The occupants of the BMW got away with the shock, the woman who caused the accident was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to the police, the cause of the accident should be obvious: the Tölzerin was drunk on the road.

At around 6:30 p.m., her Mazda approached the turn-off into Schlierseer Strasse on federal highway 472, coming from the direction of Hausham.

In front of her, the traffic light had turned red, the 22-year-old son of a hotel owner from Elmau (Garmisch-Partenkirchen district) was waiting there in a BMW for green.

The 53-year-old consultant from Bad Tölz apparently did not notice the BMW and the red traffic light.

Unchecked, according to the police report, her Mazda crashed into the rear of the stationary BMW.

Coincidentally, officials from the Miesbach inspection were on their way to the night shift and saw the accident before they even reached the office.

"The damage to the vehicles did not promise anything good," says the press report.

The police officers rushed to the station, quickly slipped into their uniforms and were at the scene of the accident a short time later.

As it turned out, the 22-year-old BMW driver from Elmau and his father (67), who was sitting in the passenger seat, survived the collision unharmed.

The Tölzerin, however, was so badly injured that she had to be taken to Agatharied Hospital with severe bruises and a broken collarbone.

The cause of the accident could then be clarified in the hospital.

In the case of the Tölzerin, an alcohol test revealed exactly two parts per thousand.

A blood test was carried out and the driver's license secured.

The Mazda has only scrap value, the property damage is estimated by the police at around 5000 euros.

The repair of the BMW should cost around 15,000 euros.

The Miesbach fire brigade went to the scene of the accident with 17 men to tie up the leaking operating materials and to provide first aid.
