Soon Israelis will have to issue an entry visa to the countries of the European Union • This is part of a policy change due to the large waves of immigration to the continent • Everything you need to know about the new visa to the European Union

Against the background of the move to approve a visa exemption for Israelis who want to enter the US, it appears that starting next year - most likely from November - Israeli citizens will have to issue a visa before entering the countries of the European Union. The move is the product of a change in policy by the Union due to the large waves of immigration to the continent, It will apply not only to Israelis but to citizens of 60 countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia and even Great Britain, which recently withdrew from the Union.

The new visa will grant an entry permit to the EU countries that will be valid for three years or until the passport expires (whichever comes first).

It will allow you to stay in Europe for up to 90 days every six months and 180 days a year in total.

It is important to note that the procedure for issuing the European visa will be much simpler than the one required for entering the US. Issuing the visa, or "entry approval" as they prefer to call it in the EU, will be carried out using the computer in a process that should take about ten minutes.

The person filling out the application will be asked to provide full name, date of birth, gender and citizenship, as well as a valid passport number, e-mail address and credit card number to pay the fee, which is expected to be low.

Also, it is possible that broader information will be required depending on the purpose of the trip, such as: education and information about employment, travel destinations and visit purposes, questions about medical conditions, questions about criminal history and whether there are countries from which you are deported.

Israeli citizens who wish to stay in the European Union for a period of more than 90 days will have to apply for a different type of visa, defined as a long-term visa such as a work visa, student visa or resident visa.
