Following the security situation, Prime Minister Yair Lapid met today (Sunday) with opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu for a security update, along with his military secretary, for the first time since he left power.
Since the establishment of the Bennett-Lapid government, Netanyahu has not attended the legally required update meetings with the Prime Minister and receives updates from the military secretary.
So far he has asked to meet with the military secretary separately.

Netanyahu's office already contacted the Prime Minister's military secretary, Avi Gil, at noon yesterday, with a request to receive a security briefing following the developments in the south, before the Prime Minister's office announced the summons issued to the leader of the opposition for the briefing.
Until now, Netanyahu only asked to meet with the military secretary separately, and not to get an update with Lapid, and he sent a similar request after Lapid took office.
In light of the events in the south, sources in his office say, in his office, he will arrive tomorrow for the security update meeting, whether it is with the Prime Minister or whether it is with the military secretary.
