On Sunday evening, a truce, which Egypt is trying to negotiate, had just been accepted by one of the two parties… But once again, Gaza seems on the verge of falling into war.
It all started last Friday.
In the middle of the afternoon, the Israeli army attacked the Palestinian enclave and targeted a residential building in the heart of Gaza City.
An immense gray smoke escapes from the buildings, covering the sky with a thick dust.
Then, in the middle of the debris, residents and rescuers are busy, looking for survivors, evacuating the wounded or holding the dead in their arms.
This first salvo of strikes by the Israeli army -
"about fifteen targets in 170 seconds"
according to local residents - was intended to eliminate one of the leaders of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), Tayssir al-Jabari.
