Grafing: Söder is coming to the Leonhardifahrt this year

Prime Minister Söder is coming to this year's Grafinger Leonhardifahrt and has cabinet colleague Kaniber "in his luggage".
Mayor Christia Bauer (CSU) said that this "joy and honor" was initiated by Thomas Huber, member of the Grafingen CSU state parliament.
Grafing – For the first time in the more than 300-year history of the Grafinger Leonhardifahrt, a Bavarian Prime Minister will take part in this event.
"At the suggestion and mediation of our member of parliament Thomas Huber, Dr.
Markus Söder as guest of honor for the traditional event on October 30, 2022," says Grafing's Mayor Christian Bauer (CSU): "It is both a pleasure and an honor for us to welcome the highest political representative of the Bavarian State Government to Grafing for this occasion." .
Söder will not be the only representative of the state government: Minister of Agriculture Michaela Kaniber has also promised to come, according to the town hall.
She was already scheduled for last year and had to postpone her participation by one year due to the corona virus.
Entry in the Golden Book
According to Bauer, both personalities will sign the golden book of the town of Grafing beforehand at a reception at 9 a.m. in the town hall.
Thousands of visitors expected again
The Leonhardi ride, which takes place every year on the last Sunday in October, is one of the highlights in the Grafingen calendar of events from a religious as well as cultural point of view.
Many festively decorated horses and chest wagons pass thousands of visitors through Grafingen city center and its baroque market square.
There will also be a supporting program on the Grafinger market square with stands that will take care of your physical well-being.
This tradition goes back to the year 1708 and has its origins in the veneration of Saint Leonhard, who is considered the patron saint of farm animals.
