The General Electricity Company in Homs Governorate has developed an integrated plan to permanently secure electricity for the most important water pumping stations in the countryside and the city, respectively, according to the available capabilities, in order to alleviate the suffering of the people from the problem of water scarcity and having to buy it from tanks at high prices.
The general manager of the company, Engineer Bassam Al-Rifai, said in a statement to SANA reporter that after the Homs Electricity Company worked to secure the electrical feeding of the water pumping stations on the old Palmyra road, which feeds all the city’s neighborhoods in addition to the villages of Zaidel and Fairoza, work is currently being done to secure the electrical feeding of the pumping stations in my neighborhood Al-Zahraa and Al-Waer, in addition to linking the Dheerj wells in the Al-Qusayr area with the network exempt from rationing.
In turn, the Director of the Public Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Homs, Engineer Ayman Al-Naddaf, indicated that the complete exemption of the location of the main water tanks from electrical rationing has a positive impact on the pumping quantities of the neighborhoods located west and east of the Damascus road.
Al-Naddaf explained that the Al-Waer neighborhood and east of Al-Sitteen Street will later be exempted from electrical rationing to improve the irrigation situation in them, pending the new station being put into service in the coming days.
