Kochel am See
– A 21-year-old cyclist suffered such serious injuries in a fall that she had to be taken to the hospital by rescue helicopter.
Crashed with a mountain bike on the B11 between Pessenbach and Kochel
According to the Kochel police, the woman from Kochel was on the B 11 coming from Pessenbach towards Kochel on Saturday.
According to the police, she cycled "with an older mountain bike" down the long straight.
As witnesses stated, without outside participation, she went too far to the right onto the banquet and fell.
She sustained very serious injuries and had to be taken to Murnau Accident Hospital by rescue helicopter.
At the time of the accident, the young woman was not wearing a bicycle helmet, which according to the officials "obviously had a significant impact on the severity of the injuries".
Police appealed to put on a helmet voluntarily
In this context, the police are appealing again to voluntarily put on a bicycle helmet to better prevent serious head injuries.
