The nanny of a six-month-old girl, who died of shaken baby syndrome, was indicted and imprisoned on Saturday evening, the Saint-Etienne (Loire) prosecutor's office announced on Saturday evening.

The approved childminder domiciled in L'Horme (Loire) was presented last weekend to an examining magistrate, who indicted her for willful violence resulting in death without intention of giving it, and remanded in custody

The defendant denies the facts
On July 26, around 5 p.m., the respondent had alerted the father of the six-month-old girl, in a period of adaptation at home, of the sudden deterioration in her state of health.
Hospitalized, the infant died two days later in hospital.
The child's autopsy showed that he had succumbed to shaken baby syndrome.
A video made by the girl's mother for the father, when dropping her off at the nanny's on the morning of the incident, showed the child in good health, according to the magistrate.
Placed in police custody, the maternal assistance denied the facts, reports
