Opinion Dawn of a new political day Israel today

2022-08-07T20:07:32.202Z

At the end of Operation "Dawn" our leaders will have to gather and try to examine the political path again • In light of the current good cooperation, Lapid and Gantz must, for the sake of the stability of the political system, try to bury the sediments of the past and come to their senses

One picture, as they say, is worth a thousand words.

One picture that tells the whole story and there is no end to it.

This is the picture that was published in the midst of the "Dawn" operation, and could become the "Dawn of a New Day."

In the photo, Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Defense Minister Benny Gantz are seen walking and Gantz's hand is on Lapid's shoulder, who is placing his arm on Gantz's back.

For a moment, the enmity and hatred, jealousy and disappointment disappeared.

In the hearts of many, who saw the photograph, hope arose for a renewed union between Yesh Atid and Blue and White.

A union that can produce a party that will pass the 30 mandate barrier, and there is a chance that it will be the first to receive from the president the right to try and form a government.

Today in the polls Lapid has 21-23 mandates, Gantz has 11-13 mandates.

This is a pool of votes worth 32-36 mandates, which actually sees reality in a similar way.

Presumably, if the voters of both parties were asked, they would be happy if they went together.

They were happy in the past when the two went together under the name Blue and White, led by Gantz, and received 31 mandates.

In a moment of intoxication from the depths, Gantz ran into the arms of Benjamin Netanyahu, who promised him a rotation and gave him a fever, but managed to break up the all-important partnership to the center of the political map.

So these two gentlemen may have difficulty overcoming the sediments of the past, but they must, for the sake of the stability of the political system, try.

bury the hatchets and come to your senses.

Lapid will probably want to be in charge, and he deserves it, because he demonstrates impressive political stability.

Gantz will be rotated for half the term, and Lapid has proven that he keeps his promises.

It is true that Gantz has prominent Likud representatives on the list, such as Gideon Sa'ar and Ze'ev Elkin, who would be happy to return to Likud in the post-Netanyahu era, but they have already sat and are sitting in the coalition in which Lapid is prime minister, so they can continue until the post-Netanyahu era.

On top of that, in my opinion, the unions are necessary for the stability of the political system.

For years I have been saying that in the State of Israel there is no place or need for such a plurality of parties.

There is no room for the indulgence discovered by the Israeli voter who wants to choose exactly, but exactly, the party that meets all his demands and desires.

In Israel it is desirable and proper to have no more than four parties - center right, center left, ultra-religious and a party that represents the Arab citizens of Israel.

This.

Don't need more than that.

Just as in the USA there are Democrats and Republicans, and more than 350 million people find their way in one of the two parties, 9.5 million residents of Israel will be honored and find their place in one of these four parties.

We are in the middle of Operation "Dawn".

At the end, our leaders will have to gather and try to examine the political path again.

To look at the firm stand of the citizens of Israel, where the home front shows an admirable immunity.

But if we are talking about the dawn of a new day, it is time to examine the ways that will prevent repeated examination of the stability of the home front, and to find the ways to live here in peace, even if at the moment it seems far and impossible.
