Palestinian Endowments: The occupation seeks to Judaize Al-Aqsa and the Old City

The Palestinian Minister of Awqaf, Hatem Al-Bakri, confirmed that the dangerous Israeli escalation in the occupied city of Jerusalem through tampering and sabotaging Palestinian religious and historical sites and changing their features falls within the framework of the occupation’s plans to Judaize the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City and its surroundings.

Al-Bakri said in a statement today, reported by the Palestinian Wafa Agency, that the occupation is striving in its violations against the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron by intensifying excavations, preventing all forms of restoration and maintenance, and intensifying the works of Judaization, which have reached dangerous stages that threaten the existence of the site, which is listed on the World Heritage List. Per the international resolutions, pointing out that the occupation prevented the call to prayer in the Ibrahimi Mosque 46 times during the past month.

Al-Bakri indicated that the occupation continues excavations in the Umayyad palaces in the area adjacent to the southern Al-Aqsa Wall and intensifies excavations and suspicious and mysterious works in the vicinity of the mosque, especially from the southern and western sides.
