A policewoman is suspected of stealing food worth about $580 from a shop in Amoy Gardens, Kowloon Bay on May 28 this year.
She was charged with one count of "theft" on 25 last month and will appear at Kwun Tong Magistrates' Courts tomorrow (8 August).
It is understood that the policewoman stole some fruits and frozen food from DONKI, a large supermarket in Taoda Garden.
The 55-year-old female defendant, surnamed Huang, was identified by the police as a police officer who had started her pre-retirement leave, and emphasized that the police force attaches great importance to the conduct of personnel. Criminal investigation and disciplinary review.
The incident happened at about 4:20 pm on May 28 this year. The police received a report from the security guard, alleging that the defendant was suspected of stealing food worth about $580 from a shop in Amoy Garden, 77 Ngau Tau Kok Road.
Officers arrived at the scene and arrested her on suspicion of theft.
The case was handed over to the Sau Mau Ping District Crime Squad for follow-up.
