The police speak of "madness" and are looking for witnesses to an incident on Saturday evening when a racing cyclist crossed the A95 in heavy traffic, although there is an underpass a few meters away.
Wangen
– A racing cyclist (52) from Munich may have massively endangered motorists on the A 95 with an “absolutely dangerous, senseless and prohibited” action – according to the traffic police, he crossed seven lanes on Saturday around 7 p.m.
There was an underpass 200 meters away.
The man approached the Autobahn from the east and began climbing over the crash barriers.
“At that time there was a lot of traffic on the A 95.
In addition, there are crash barriers everywhere at this point on the motorway (in some cases extra high crash barriers of almost one meter in height)," the police said.
But none of that stopped the cyclist: “The man initially managed to cross the first four lanes and was now on his bike between the crash barriers in both directions.
The man from Munich and his bike had to wait there for about five minutes due to the heavy traffic before he was able to heave his bike over the crash barrier again and reach the other side.” A police patrol stopped him there.
The officials are now looking for witnesses who were endangered by the action,
had to swerve or brake hard: (08 81) 64 03 02. A fine is certain, there may be a criminal complaint.
