The siren resounds in the suburbs of Jerusalem, a handful of villages drowned in the greenery and posed along the highway which climbs towards the holy city.
Followed by a slight explosion.
A few seconds later, a little smoke stands out against the blue sky: the anti-missile system has just intercepted a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip by the Islamic Jihad.
What surprise the inhabitants, even if the hostilities between Tsahal and the Islamic jihad, which killed 41 Palestinians including children and fighters in Gaza, have resumed since Friday August 5.
“We are so unaccustomed to it that we didn't immediately think of taking shelter.
When we realized what was happening, the rocket had been intercepted, ”says Yaniv, a resident of Kiryat-Yéarim, one of the localities in the area.
