Munich – A tragic accident occurred in Munich on Sunday (August 7) ​​in the early morning hours not far from fire station 7.

At around two-thirty, the Munich control center received the report of an accident on Moosacher Strasse.

"Even at the time the reports were made, it was clear that several injured people were involved in the accident," the fire department said in a press release.



The fire brigade and rescue service responded when they arrived at the intersection of Riesenfeldstraße and saw “a picture of devastation”.

A VW and an Opel had collided.

"As a result of the accident, the silver Opel with four occupants was catapulted onto a lamppost, bounced off and then turned around on its own axis again," said the emergency services.

Munich: Man dies in an accident in Milbertshofen

One occupant was thrown from the car when it hit the lamppost and was seriously injured.

Passers-by had already started resuscitation measures, which were taken over and intensified by the emergency services.

The 26-year-old came to a Munich clinic.

"After all medical measures had been exhausted, only death could be determined there," said the fire brigade.



At the same time, the emergency services found one of the remaining occupants in the Opel to be in cardiac arrest.

A so-called "crash rescue" was instructed by another emergency doctor who was present.


To do this, the fire brigade

forces opened the door with hydraulic rescue equipment.

Resuscitation measures were started immediately, and the 37-year-old was taken to a clinic.

Violent accident in Munich: several people injured

While the two seriously injured were treated, emergency services also treated the two remaining 22 and


56-year-olds in the Opel and then transported both to shock rooms in Munich clinics.

The 21-year-old driver of the VW was also examined.

He was unharmed.



Firefighters secured the scene of the accident, ensured fire protection and picked up the spilled operating materials.

After the rescue measures, they continued to illuminate the scene of the accident so that the police and accident experts could start their investigations.



The Opel and the VW were totaled.

The damage to the lighting masts and the traffic control must first be assessed by the relevant authorities.
