Screwing, hanging and installing in the ESC ice rink has been going on for weeks.

The construction for the Volksfest Dorfen from Friday, August 12th is underway.

The new Festwirts team comes with a few innovations.

Dorfen

– 100 cubic meters of wood for the floor, the roofing and facades, 2.2 kilometers of white and blue fabric for the sky and ten kilometers of cable for electricity, lighting and electrical equipment: a lot has been done in the ESC ice rink these days.

It is screwed, built in, hung and installed.

The deadline is Friday, August 12th.

Everything has to be ready by then, because then there will be a folk festival in Dorfen again.

20 men each help with the assembly and later with the dismantling, among them the innkeepers Ernst Hennel, Franz Egerndorfer and Tobi Maier from the "Gmaade Wiesn GbR".

You have been awarded the contract for this year's folk festival, initially only for one year.

There will be more to follow if they have their way.

Construction work on the ice rink began at the beginning of July.

The building yard was the first to decorate the ceiling with the white and blue strips and hung up the big hearts.

Then the Stoarösler set up the beer garden under the direction of Stefan Schweiger, a trained carpenter.

The trio and their helpers pulled up the wooden walls and superstructures for the boxes.

"The wooden floor can only be laid when all the heavy objects, such as the beer carousel, are already in the hall," explains Egerndorfer.

That too is now done.

"Everyone lends a hand where it's needed," emphasizes Hennel.

The many Bavarian collector's items, from butter kegs to sledges, which stand on the roofs all around the inner walls of the hall, would have "begged" the previous innkeepers over the past few years.

In order to store all this safely throughout the year, the landlords have rented a 300 square meter storage room in Großkatzbach.

They bought most of the equipment and inventory from their predecessors, Prost Mahl GbR, to which Hennel already belonged.

He can look back on many years of folk festival experience.

But his two friends are also tried and tested in the gastro and event scene.

The 54-year-old Egerndorfer is still known to many from his time with Jürgen Ondruschek at Crazy in Schwindkirchen and also in Taufkirchen, where they ran the cultural center.

He is a professional for shop conversions and their design, which he does full-time at Munich Airport.

56-year-old Hennel works full-time as a technician and has been running E 3 with Robert Eichner since the end of 2001. 30-year-old Tobi Maier is DJ Sonnengruß, was the manager of Dorfener Tonwerk and recently opened Bar Amore on Marienplatz.

"We complement each other well," say the three, even though this year was particularly stressful for them.

Because in between, they also had to set up and dismantle and run their huts on the Erdinger Sinnflut for eleven days.

That all went hand in hand with the folk festival preparations, says Hennel.

For a week now, the three have only been active in the ice rink again.

They are often at work here from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Of course, they also came up with new ideas for the Dorfen folk festival, such as the house facades made of old wood from the old Bachmayr Stadl.

There is a new area for the boxes, for which benches and tables made of solid wood have been specially made.

There are 50 boxing tables in total.

The tavern and the party office are as usual in the old place and, as always, covered.

It is always an advantage that all three hosts are from Dorfen.

Because short distances to work are a clear advantage here, emphasizes Maier.

In general, sustainability is very important to them in their job as landlords.

This starts with the interior design of the hall and extends to the indoor laser show.

This year, for the first time, this will rise on Wednesday, August 17, at 10 p.m. instead of the fireworks.

The suppliers and staff are also largely from the region, which saves unnecessary kilometers and reduces CO2 emissions.
