The Wolfratshauser List would like to keep Marienplatz as it is today.
2650 people signed for it - how it goes on is open.
Wolfratshausen – In its fight to keep Marienplatz in its current form, the Wolfratshauser list has reached an important milestone: more people than necessary signed the petition to protect the historic old town.
On Monday morning, three representatives of the group handed over the signatures collected so far to the mayor.
2650 signatures: Citizens' petition against the displacement of the well takes the first hurdle
According to city councilors Dr.
Manfred Fleischer and Richard Kugler as well as list member Herrmann Paetzmann found the signatures of 2650 Wolfratshausers in the bulging white folder.
According to the Bavarian Municipal Code, nine percent of those entitled to vote in a city the size of Wolfratshausen must sign for a citizens' petition to be permissible.
According to Kugler, that would be around 1,350 in Loisachstadt. "We reached this quorum very quickly," reported Fleischer at the handover.
In mid-June, the Wolfratshauser list had started collecting for the citizens' initiative (we reported).

Wolfratshausen: Marienbrunnen is to be moved - list WOR, on the other hand, is mobilizing
Arguments were no longer exchanged at the meeting in the town hall – the Wolfratshauser list had already made their point of view known several times in the past few weeks.
The political group would like to reverse a city council decision, according to which the Marienbrunnen on the square of the same name between Obermarkt and Untermarkt should be moved closer to the main road.
There are several reasons for the list not to move the fountain: On the one hand, it is too expensive with rumored costs of around 200,000 euros.
On the other hand, the "grown, harmonious ensemble" should be preserved in its current form.
There was also a risk that the Marienbrunnen would be destroyed by the construction work.
The roots of the plane trees on Marienplatz - a gift from the French twin town of Barbezieux - could also be injured.
Proponents of the measure, on the other hand, see the project as an opportunity to gain an event space in the heart of the city centre.
The landmark would also be placed more prominently and traffic on the B11 would be slowed down as the fountain would be an obstacle.
Markstraße in Wolfratshausen: the city council voted for the postponement - now there is resistance
With 15:5 votes, the city council had decided on the transfer.
Now the committee has to deal with the topic again.
The next meeting is in September.
After the administration has checked the lists of signatures, the council members decide whether to withdraw the well decision or adapt it according to the wishes of the initiators of the citizens' initiative.
If the Council sticks to its opinion, the opponents will force a referendum, they announced.
Then the Wolfratshauser can decide at the ballot box whether the place should be changed or not.
It would be the fifth referendum in the city's history.
This direct-democratic instrument has existed since 1995.

Old town Wolfratshausen: Heilinglechner does not make a forecast - the city council has several options
Klaus Heilinglechner did not want to make a forecast on Monday as to how the measure could continue.
"We'll have to see what the city council says about it," said the mayor.
Heilinglechner said he had no doubts that the hurdle of around 1,350 signatures was taken.
Nevertheless, an examination of the lists is obligatory.

As Manfred Fleischer explained, the Wolfratshauser list continues to collect signatures against the project.
"We've had a lot of people asking if we can continue this," he explained.
Lists would be available in Wolfratshausen at five locations – Gasthaus Löwenbräu, Schuhmoden Meiller, Edeka Heininger and Rosen- und Isar-Apotheke.
