Berlin – A 27-year-old was found dead in Berlin in her nurse's apartment in Prenzlauer Berg.
The woman in need of care choked on porridge, said a spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor's office on Monday.
This was revealed by the autopsy of the body.
According to the current status, the investigators are assuming a fatal injury, as stated in a joint statement by the police and the public prosecutor.
The suspect is the woman's nurse.
According to the spokesman, the 45-year-old was arrested early Monday afternoon in Wolgast in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
She should now be brought to Berlin.
On Tuesday it should be checked whether the public prosecutor's office will apply for an arrest warrant to be issued against her.
It was initially unclear why the nurse was in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, whether she fled after the death of the 27-year-old.
A homicide detective is investigating the case.
According to the spokesman for the public prosecutor's office, the young woman was found by her parents in the 45-year-old's apartment.
She was housed there for about a week and should have been brought back last Friday.
When this didn't happen, the parents went to the nurse's apartment and found the body.
