The Syrian Commission for Family and Population Affairs, in cooperation with the Governorate of Aleppo, held a workshop this evening within the national campaign (You Can… You Deserve) to promote women’s participation in local councils with the participation of representatives of a number of ministries and community events to introduce women’s role and the necessity of their participation in the upcoming elections for local administration and activating their role in society In the building of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Family Affairs Commission, Judge Nazira Daoud, indicated that this workshop comes to emphasize the importance of the participation of Syrian women in political life and in all economic, social and cultural fields, and to enhance their access to membership in local councils, where women have previously participated in the executive, judicial and legislative authorities, political parties, professional unions and popular organizations calling. To activate the role of women in building society and actively participate in the local administration elections.

Member of the Executive Office of the Aleppo Provincial Council, Eng. Zikra Hajjar, explained the importance of the workshop to highlight the importance of the participation of Syrian women in local administration councils through elections and the exercise of their natural right guaranteed by the constitution to run.
