The Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office (Criminal) today (Monday) submitted to the city district court an indictment for attempted murder against Ashvir Tarkin (24) from Tel Aviv, who, due to a dispute, shot at a man who was at the amusement park with his toddler son and his pregnant wife.
The accused was charged with the crimes of attempted murder, serious injury under aggravated circumstances, illegal carrying and transportation of weapons;
Obstructing legal proceedings and holding a knife or fist for an illegal purpose.
According to the indictment filed by attorney Rotem Neuman Wasserman, it appears that the accused and the complainant have known each other for many years, when recently a conflict arose between the two. About two weeks ago at noon, the complainant arrived at the hair salon while his pregnant wife and toddler son were waiting for him at a playground next to the place. The defendant, who arrived at the scene on an electric bicycle, in possession of an improvised weapon, approached the complainant near the entrance to the barbershop and asked to speak with him, but the complainant ignored his request. The defendant, who was waiting for the complainant outside the barbershop, tried to speak with him again, but the complainant, who was on his way to the playground for his wife and toddler son, He told the defendant that he was not available and that they would talk later.
Near that, the accused got off the electric bike and started running towards the complainant, while shouting at him "keep the girl away".
So the accused aimed the weapon, which he brought with him, and shot towards his upper body with the intention of causing his death, all while the complainant was standing next to his son and his wife and called out to the accused "don't shoot my son".
One of the bullets hit the complainant, who began to escape from the garden towards the street, while the accused chased him and continued to shoot.
After the defendant was stopped with a weapon, he retraced his steps and fled the scene.
Following the incident, the complainant was rushed to the hospital, treated in a shock room and remained sedated and ventilated for more than a week.
In the request for detention until the end of the proceedings, which was submitted at the same time, attorney Neuman Wasserman stated that: "The audacity of the respondent, who tried to murder the complainant while he was in a playground and rocking his toddler son, when his pregnant wife was also there, in the middle of the city and in broad daylight - shows that The respondent will stop at nothing in an attempt to realize his goal.
The fact that the respondent had access to weapons and ammunition, the origin of which is unknown and so is their location today, serves to increase his dangerousness."
