(CNN) —
Actress Anne Heche has been in stable condition since Sunday, two days after the car she was driving crashed into a house and caught fire, one of her representatives said.
"Her family and friends ask for your thoughts and prayers, and respect for her privacy during this difficult time," the representative said.
Anne Heche expects a "long recovery" after car accident
Heche was previously in an intensive care unit with "serious burns" after the accident on Friday, a source close to the actress told CNN on Saturday morning.
"She's lucky to be alive," the source said.
"She has severe burns and a long recovery ahead of her. Her team and her family are still trying to process what led to the accident," she added.
The vehicle was speeding when it went off the road and crashed into a residence, Los Angeles Police public information officer Jeff Lee told CNN on Friday.

She was transferred in critical condition
Heche was taken in critical condition to a local hospital by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).
It took more than an hour for rescuers to "access, confine and fully extinguish the stubborn flames within the severely damaged structure," the LAFD said.

No other injuries were reported.
Hours before Heche was injured, a new episode of her "Better Together" podcast was released this Friday.
But she has since been removed from the Apple Podcast home page.
During part of the podcast, Heche and fellow host Heather Duffy talk about drinking vodka and wine.
Heche mentions that she is having a "bad day".
Now, it is unclear when the podcast was recorded.
CNN has reached out to Heche's representatives for comment.
"Today has been a unique day," Heche said on the podcast.
"I don't know what happened, sometimes the days are just bad and I don't know if it ever happens to you, but mom says some days are... they're not good, they're really bad. And I don't know why some days just end like this , and things don't really shake me," he added.
On Saturday, a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told CNN that Heche had not yet been questioned by authorities about the circumstances of the incident.
The injuries she suffered have not allowed the agents to interview her, the police source said.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the crash and an earlier hit-and-run incident, a spokesperson for the agency told CNN late on Saturday.
Police said no arrests have been made.
