According to a publication in the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds, representatives of Cairo arrived in Israel with the aim of monitoring the progress in fulfilling Israel's obligations under the ceasefire agreement

Palestinian media reported this morning (Monday) that an Egyptian delegation arrived in Israel with the aim of following up on the issue of Islamic Jihad detainees, following the cease-fire agreement signed by Athol with Egyptian mediation between Israel and the terrorist organization.

According to sources who spoke with the Palestinian newspaper "Al-Quds", an Egyptian security delegation is in Israel handling the issue of the administrative detainee Khalil Awawada.

According to the report, the delegation is monitoring the implementation of the commitments of the cease-fire agreement reached through Egyptian mediation. According to Peles sources, if Israel agrees not to extend his administrative detention again, Awawada will agree to end his hunger strike.

Last night the secretary of the Islamic Jihad stated that according to the agreement, "Egypt gave a guarantee that Awawada will be transferred to a hospital today in preparation for his release to his home"

Awawada, 40, from the village of Idna in the Hebron district, has been on hunger strike for 148 days in protest of his administrative arrest.

He was arrested at the end of December last year by virtue of an administrative arrest warrant for a period of six months, and began a hunger strike in March of this year.

At the end of the period, in June of this year, the arrest warrant was extended for another 4 months.

Awaveda is married and the father of four.
