The IDF attacked Islamic Jihad targets in the Gaza Strip, August 7, 2022 (IDF spokesperson)
IDF spokesman Brigadier General Ran Kochav said this morning (Monday) that at nine o'clock the crossings from Gaza to Israel are expected to open for the passage of laborers, fuel and goods.
This, hours after the ceasefire signed last night with the Islamic Jihad mediated by Egypt.
According to Kochav, the IDF will maintain a "careful and responsible policy for a phased return to the home front", including instructions for getting closer to the military bases and a special situation in the home front that will affect, among other things, public transportation.
Kochav summarized the "Dawn" operation and said that the terrorist organization fired 1,100 rockets, 200 of which fell in the Gaza Strip.
380 interceptions were recorded, which constitutes 95% success of air defense fighters.
"We understand that there are 35 dead Palestinians, 11 of them uninvolved who were killed by IDF fire," he said. "If they are true, this is the best ratio we have had in all the operations.
There are another 15 dead who were killed as a result of failed shooting by the Palestinians.
These are the data I have, I am not 100% convinced that they are accurate."
