China's National Meteorological Center renewed today a blue-class rainstorm warning, with heavy rain forecast in some parts of the country.
"From 2:00 p.m. today to 2:00 p.m. tomorrow, rainstorms are expected to hit large parts of the provinces of Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei and Shandong, and rainfall may reach 130 millimeters in parts of Shaanxi and Shandong," the center was quoted by Xinhua as saying.
The center called on the competent authorities to make appropriate preparations for rainstorms. It also called on schools and kindergartens to draw up the necessary plans to ensure the safety of children, and advised drivers to be careful due to the possibility of floods and traffic jams, with a proposal to check drainage systems in cities, agricultural lands and fish ponds.
In China, there is a four-level colour-coded warning system, with red being the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
