A festival and an award: The traditional summer festival of the Seefeld men's choir showed a positive development.

Seefeld

– There was a lot of hustle and bustle on Saturday in the garden of the Catholic parish of St. Peter and Paul in Seefeld-Oberalting.

The men's choir Seefeld, Liederkranz Eintrachtshausen, had invited to its traditional summer festival.

Peter Rehm from Hechendorf received a special honor in this context.

The three male choirs in Seefeld, Hechendorf and Wörthsee slowly seem to be merging.

Prof. Gerd Hirzinger played the accordion, press spokesman Rainer Hange and others performed songs and arias, and everyone raised their voices together: In the parish garden it was almost forgotten that times are not easy for choirs either.

Against this background, Franz Obkircher, the long-time chairman of the Hechendorf men's choir, who died unexpectedly in March, tried to find new blood (we reported).

Even the short-lived choir community with the singers in Wörthsee could not save the situation.

The Liederkranz in Seefeld benefits from this today.

"We now have five or six men who sing with us," said Rainer Hange on Sunday.

However, the other two choral societies have not yet been dissolved, and deadlines and formalities still have to be met.

Hange also knows that at least between the Hechendorfer and Seefeld choirs there was once a rather difficult relationship.

That seems to be resolved now.

"In any case, it was a very nice get-together on Saturday," said Hange.

Johanna Dömel has been directing the choir for many years.

"She's good with us old men," says Hange.

Overall, this consistency has a positive effect on the existence of the choir.

Four years ago, after 29 years in the Hechendorer Liederkranz, Peter Rehm also went to Seefeld to sing.

The pandemic delayed his tribute.

It has now been caught up in the parish garden.

"For 33 years of active singing in the choir, resulting from 29 years of Liederkranz 'Auf freier Höh' Hechendorf and four years in Seefeld, we express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr. Peter Rehm," says the certificate for the Hechendorfer, which Roland Werb and Erich Kopatsch presented.

The singers' association gave them the singer's needle for 30 years.

Congratulations followed from all sides.

"It's nice that the former competition between the choirs is slowly becoming obsolete," Hange said happily.
